Amber Holland

Educational Background: I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a BA in Communication Studies and English with a concentration in Professional Writing.  I obtained my teaching certification in Middle Grades Language Arts (6-9) and English (9-12) through the University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s Licensure program.  Following this, I earned my National Board Certification in English Language Arts Early Adolescence. I later returned to UNCP and received my Masters in School Administration.

Educational Philosophy: Every student and educator has the potential to learn and the opportunity to grow in their capacity. We must constantly reflect on our individual strengths and areas of improvement so that we can strive to be the best version of ourselves.

Leadership Mission: A positive climate and culture must be built and maintained by fostering supportive relationships among educators, students, parents, and community members to ensure the success of our students and the school through learner-focused collaboration that is essential to inspiring, challenging, and empowering teaching and learning in and out of the classroom.

Leadership Vision: High expectations, consideration of challenges, and reflection of practices ensure inclusive and fair student learning remains at the forefront of collaborative decision-making.

I obtained my teaching certification in Physical Education grades K-12 at UNCP’s Licensure program. Educational Philosophy: Every student deserves the opportunity to discover their passions, reach their potential, and develop the skills needed for lifelong success. Athletics and academics are complementary forces in this process with teaching discipline, resilience, and teamwork. We must believe that education, both academic and athletic—is a transformative experience that develops the whole child.

Leadership Mission: Leading students with integrity, inspiring excellence, and cultivating a culture of high achievement and personal growth, both in the classroom and in athletic competition, provides students with a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where they can thrive academically, socially, and athletically.

Leadership Vision: Creating a school community where every student is known, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential both academically and athletically. Camille Newman

Educational Background: I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BS in Child Development and Family Studies. I obtained my Teaching Certification in Middle Grades Language Arts (6-9) from Fayetteville State University and later returned to FSU to receive my Masters degree in Middle Grades Language Arts. I obtained my School Administration license and certification from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Educational Philosophy: Every student deserves a safe, supportive and equitable learning environment where they are empowered to achieve their full academic and personal potential. Education is about developing the whole child intellectually, socially, emotionally, ethically as well as academically. Commitment to fostering a culture where students are encouraged to think critically, act responsibly and develop a lifelong love of learning is a vital component to education.

Leadership Mission: A climate of high expectations, mutual respect and continuous growth for students, staff, families and members of the community must be maintained. In addition, a positive school culture must be cultivated to ensure instructional excellence of all our students. As a transformative leader, all members of the school community must be inspired, supported and challenged.

Leadership Vision: I will use my experience as an English Language Arts teacher, an Instructional Coach and as an administrator to ensure that every student is known, valued, and prepared for future success - academically, socially and emotionally. Through innovation and collaboration, the learning environment must be driven with high expectations along with considerable challenges. I aim to foster a school where staff morale is high, families are engaged and students are equipped with the skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.
